World Series of Poker celebrates one of the biggest events this year
The World Series of Poker has been conducted annually in Las Vegas for over 17 years. This year the tournament also started in the usual place. This tournament is planned to be held until July 19 this year. This year, the number of participants’ applications has finally reached the values before COVID-19, which is one of the leading indicators of the commercial effectiveness of this event.
WSOP brought together over 8,000 players
This year, the poker tournament reached the value of the participants as it was before the pandemic. With a buy-in of over $10,000, the main event attracted over 8,000 participants who decided to try their luck. This is the year’s second most popular gaming event, bringing together many gambling fans. This occasion is also one of the most popular events in the history of the World Series of Poker. The last record for the number of active participants in the competition was set back in 2006.
The total prize fund amounted to more than $80 million, indicating the event’s popularity. Poker players who even finish in 10th place will be able to win more than 600 thousand dollars, which is a considerable sum. The player who takes 9th place already receives a little less than a million. Players who take higher positions in the standings will be able to receive more than a million US dollars.
For example, a participant in fifth place will be able to receive more than two million dollars for his victory. The player in fourth place will go home with over three million winnings. In third place, you can get four million, and the player who takes second place will be able to settle for a prize of $6 million.
The player who takes first place in this tournament will be able to boast a prize of more than 10 million US dollars. Many of the rewards can be received not only by the best players in this competition. All gamers have a chance to participate in the tournament to get a big win. Second chance
Among the exciting events of the World Series of Poker competition, it should be noted that this year Luke Vrabel was allowed to play, who was banned from the tournament in 2017 after one incident. The WSOP committee has decided to give him a second chance in this competition. Now he can participate in the fight for the main prize. Vrabel’s ban has been lifted, so he can finally try his luck at one of this year’s main events. The competition vice president has already notified the player of the changes.
