Laos plans to launch online gambling
The pandemic has made adjustments to the gambling business in Laos. At the moment, local entrepreneurs are planning to change the model, introducing online casinos and slots. Laos is planning to build an entirely new business model for the development of the gambling industry. As a result, they plan to open new online casinos that will operate under an official license. This will help depart from the pandemic more quickly, making good profits.

Such a plan would allow the government to control gambling and receive a percentage of revenues. Earlier in Laos, there was more emphasis on offline gambling, but with the start of the pandemic, the market has changed significantly. Now this industry does not bring in as much income. The government is actively looking for possible solutions to support local businesses.
At the moment, the pandemic had a negative impact on the replenishment of the state budget. At the same time, illegal online gambling has also started to develop, due to which the government is still unable to generate revenue actively. The transition to online gambling is a complicated process, as it will require a complete change in the current law.
The Philippine model is an excellent example of how to regulate the sphere of online casinos and generate additional revenue for the state budget. Laos is taking all possible solutions to take advantage of the available opportunities.
