Japanese prime minister says online casinos remain illegal
The position of the Japanese government remains unchanged regarding gambling. Online casinos in this country remain unlawful, according to Fumio Kishida.
What is happening in the slot machine market in Japan?
At the next meeting, one of the Japanese Parliament members mentioned that the number of requests for online casinos among Japanese users is growing. For reference, in 2014, the number of online casinos in Japan was 100, and in 2020 this figure increased to 500. Also, at the meeting of the Parliament, it was found that the number of active users of online casinos is more than two million in the state. Many people place bets on the Internet on different sports.
To all these questions, the Prime Minister replied that gambling is considered prohibited in Japan d. They are a crime against the state. Therefore they are subject to limitation and liability. Also, the Prime Minister of Japan claims that if any fact about gambling is revealed, there will be official arrests since criminal organizations are prohibited from expanding.
At the same time, there was no exact answer about which department was in charge of gambling control. The minister himself states that several state departments and ministries deal with gambling issues in the region.
Gambling Addiction
Also, at the meeting of ministers of Japan, the issue of combating gambling addiction among the population was considered. For now, the Prime Minister has stated that there is a basic plan that includes preventive measures for gambling addiction. Gambling is deemed illegal, so the basic countermeasure plan is to block sites that distribute gambling and not fight a possible addiction to slot machines.
Also, at the meeting of ministers in Japan, the issue of popularizing gambling in certain establishments and resorts was raised. Because of this, the risks that the government will not be able to cope with in the future are significantly increasing, so it is necessary to take appropriate action now.
A decision has been made to regulate the work of online casinos and standardization. The government also plans to consider the opinion of the country’s citizens. After that, the procedure for issuing licenses for online casinos will begin, which will be legal in the country.
It is planned to create one of these companies, which will deal with the management of gambling and slot machines managements. A plan has already been developed to legalize gambling and attract assets that will go to the needs of the state.
Also, the Japanese government is actively working on an alternative to online casinos, actively developing a tourist destination in the country. For this, a development plan and funds have already been allocated to be spent on integrating production. It is planned to make a profit of more than 4 million, covering the cost of gambling.
